Education

Postgraduate Coursework

The University of Adelaide offers Masters degrees by coursework, all directed towards students gaining employment in the wine industry. These programs are strongly supported by both Australian and international students. For further information on coursework, visit the University of Adelaide website.

Courses are offered in Oenology, Viticulture and Wine Business.

Being located at the centre of the Australian wine industry and within such a dynamic cluster, provides Master's students with an experience unique to the University of Adelaide. Graduates of these programs are in high demand in industry - both in Australia and overseas.

Postgraduate Research

The University of Adelaide offers both Masters and Doctoral degrees by research. For further information on research, visit the University of Adelaide website.
There, the comparison with most other institutions ends.

Undertaking your research degree within the Wine Innovation Cluster through the University of Adelaide has many unique benefits, including:

  • Access to supervisors across the partner institutions enables students to access a broad range of skills and the very best in supervision.
  • Collaboration amongst supervisors means that students with specialist science backgrounds can move to wine based research without being specialist wine students.
  • At the Wine Innovation Cluster there is a broad range of science specialisations having a focus on wine, rather than wine people having a focus on science creating unique opportunities
    • for collaboration
    • to make a greater impact
    • for more exciting work
    • to be part of "something bigger"
  • There is a critical mass of students on Waite and a collegiate culture. Student facilities (science and social) are excellent.
  • Students can readily develop a "clear path" for their research project, timelines and completion period.
  • Between them, the Wine Innovation Cluster partners employ many post-doctoral fellows providing potential opportunities to continue research after degree completion.
  • All partners have a focus on the relentless pursuit of scientific excellence.
